Techmach Technology was originally established in 1979 and concentrated in food engineering in seed, cereal and groundnut processing technology.
In 1999 L.T.A. decided that food engineering is not part of their core business,
Techmach Technology saw this as a great opportunity and bought from L.T.A. the Intellectual Rights
of more than 50 years from L.T.A. Food Division including spare on hand of approximately 2.8 million rand

The company Macdonald Forman Co. Ltd. was established in South Africa in 1922, to provide engineering and
contracting services to the food and agricultural industries. In 1959 it became a subsidiary of Simon

technologies. In 1989 it acquired the South African subsidiary of Thomas Robinson & Son, thus gaining access to an even wider industry.
