Length grading of all granular materials Techmach

Techmach Indent cylinders are used for length grading of all granular materials such as wheat, oat, maize, rice, fine seeds, lentils, sticks from sunflower or sugar beet, plastic particles etc., as well as for the extraction of unwanted short or long admixtures.

Through the inlet housing, the granular material to be graded flows into the interior of the rotating cylinder whose cover is provided with special deep drawn, tear-drop or spherical„ shaped pockets for the most precise length separation. The grains that embed themselves fully into the indents will be lifted and after a certain distance fall out of the pockets under gravity into the trough and subsequently be discharged by means of a conveying screw.

The kernels which are longer than the indent diameter will immediately slide out and remain on the inside surface of the indent cover. This shell product flows to the discharge point of the cylinder and will be discharged into the outlet housing.

The Indented Cylinder Separators are available in 10 different sizes with single cylinder throughput from 1 to 30 t/h.

Dry Stoner

They are used to separate granular material according to the specific weight into two fractions and in dry material condition. Target is the elimination of heavy impurities, such as stones, metallic particles and others from e.g. coffee, grain or pulses. The granular material to be separated is taken to the table deck in the conveying direction through an adjustable spring-actuated flap

Depending on the grain size, the deck surface is covered by a fine-meshed or a large-meshed wire cloth, through which a steady and adjustable airflow is aspirated.
The combined effect of the shaking movement and of the air passing through the deck causes an arranging in layers of the material flowing in (- fluidized bed principle).

The heavy admixtures sink towards the bottom and are moved to the highest point of the table deck surface by the contact with the rough deck covering.
The clean product floats towards the top of the layer and flews, against the conveying direction of the table to the lowest point of the deck surface, the clean product discharge. In the outlet area of the heavy particles, a unique “counter-air flow zone” avoids the clean product from being discharged into the heavy particles outlet during operation.

The dry stoners have a capacity up to 20 t/h depending on model and product.
For aromatic products or for implementation in closed rooms, Cimbria can offer an air recirculation system which circulates app. 80% of the process air.

Further, an automatic cleanout system can be offered for applications with frequent change of incoming product (batch operation) to reduce down times.

Maize Sheller

Gentle separation for high germination rates

Techmach’s Maize Shellers are designed for gentle separation of maize kernels from the cobs and removal rachis.

They find their application mainly in seed processing sector, where maize cobs are harvested as a whole unit. In the plant, the machine is positioned after husking and cob drying process.

The way of operation has been chosen on the basis of our grandfather’s manual way to do it: By rubbing cobs against each other. This is the most gentle way to remove the kernels from the cobs, without the danger of harming the germination capacity of the sensitive maize seed.

The machine’s sturdy steel housing is equipped with a cleaning opening. In between the forged rotor with ribs and the sheller cage, the cobs are rubbed against each other. Loose kernels fall through the cage made of round rods, whereas rachis is transported to the end outlet due to the progressive pitch of ribs on the rotor. An adjustable dam up flap in the end of the housing regulates the intension of shelling.

In order to remove rachis and oversized kernels from shelled corn, the Techmach flat bed screen cleaner completes the maize shelling unit. This cleaner operates with 3 rows of screens with a total screen area of 9 m². The two top layers of screens are considered as scalping decks with discharge trays at the front of the machine. Sand screening happens in the third layer in the bottom. The cleaner is equipped with an eccentric drive and incorporates Techmach’s well-proven rubber ball cleaning system.
